DB Coach -- The Latest

From Former Assistant Recruiting Coordinator Mark Ouimet.

Ouimet: "I'm giving my opinion now, but I believe Michigan's top two candidates for the defensive back job are Raheem Morris (on the Tampa Bay staff) and David Lockwood (on the Minnesota staff). Corwin Brown (former Wolverine currently on the Virginia staff) is a third. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a new coach next week."

Here is what Mark has said about the three candidates:

"Raheem Morris from Tampa Bay. This year he was 'defensive quality control coach' for Tampa, which is the NFL's version of a 'grad assistant coach'. He is from New Jersey, and played defensive back at Hofstra and has coached DB's at Hofstra and Cornell."

"David Lockwood (he was on Bob Davie's staff at Notre Dame, this year he was DB coach at Minnesota; he turned down a Wisconsin job this winter, he is a graduate and former DB from West Virginia)."

"Former Wolverine DB Corwin Brown (currently an assistant at Virginia -- he recruited Ryan Mundy for Virginia)."

By the way, did readers take note during the Wisconsin game of the clip on the new U-M football locker room? It is being built right now, with an Aug. 1 completion date. Things between the Big House and Crisler Arena are pretty dug up right now, but when finished it will reportedly all look the same to fans. However, it will in-fact be QUITE different. The locker room will expand from 3000 sq. feet (right out of the movie "Rocky" I might add) to 11,000 sq. feet, and will include medical facilities and, presumably, a recruit-meeting room. Currently, players injured in a game have to be taken to the University Hospital for treatment.
