"It was kind of like a little two way thing," said Story regarding his Michigan recruitment. "They offered me and I was already interested in them so we got off good like that."
"I like the coach that came by (during the spring evaluation period), Coach Frey. They've always got good athletes. They're in a good spot. Michigan is a good place. Every college has academics, but theirs are (really good)."
A few weeks back, Story informed Scout.com that a visit to Ann Arbor was a distinct possibility. In subsequent days he began narrowing down a timeframe for when that trip might take place.
"I think it is going to happen," Story said regarding a Michigan visit. "Probably an unofficial (visit). Probably early in the summer."
The Wolverines seemingly have an uphill battle in this race, but not as much as some might think according Story. When asked if distance would be a factor in his recruitment, the three-star wideout didn't hesitate.
"Not at all," he said matter-of-factly.
And how about weather?
"No, I do not think so," Story responded.
The most promising non-hurdle for the Wolverines (and other out-of-region programs) may be the fact that Story claims no childhood allegiances to any program.
"I do not really watch football much," he explained. "I'm just looking for a good school with good coaches where I can play. I do not want to go somewhere where I have to redshirt."
"I'm open. My list (of schools) is not in any order."
