Conlan Returns as BBall Assistant

Michigan basketball coach John Beilein announced Monday afternoon that he has hired former Wolverine point guard Travis Conlan (1995-1998) as his new administrative assistant.

"We are very pleased to bring Travis Conlan back into the Michigan basketball family," John Beilein said in a statement Monday afternoon. "From my first meeting with Travis two years ago, I sensed he had a bright future after his playing days had ended. We love the passion he has for this university and this state and know he will bring that same drive with his day-to-day activities.

"Travis will wear many hats for us in the months and years ahead. He will work directly with me on a daily basis and on various special projects. He will also be responsible for our alumni relations, community service, future scheduling and facility management. In addition, I know he is looking forward to serving as the director of our many camps and clinics."

"I am over the moon for this opportunity to rejoin the Michigan basketball program," added Conlan. "The opening and timing at U-M was like the perfect storm. When I found out about the position, as well as the chance to work with Coach Beilein and his staff, I jumped at it. This position allows me the chance to learn college basketball from the inside out as well as to observe and absorb as much as I can from such a great staff.

"Growing up in Michigan, I am the biggest 'Michigan Man' there is. This university and program means so much to me and has helped me in so many ways. I am thrilled to have the chance to contribute and give back to it as much as it gave me."
