The 6'0, 215-lb Ross was there as an unofficial visitor, and he says the atmosphere and noise was notable.
"It was a real fun game. It was real intense. The crowd was pumpin'. I couldn't hear myself think. It was cool."
Ross, who was sporting an Orchard Lake hoodie, says he may have made a wardrobe mistake.
"I kept thinking, I don't know how I'm going to get away with wearing this red sweatshirt."
During the actual contest, his eyes were naturally glued to the backers.
"The linebackers were moving around pretty fast. I had my eye on #8 (Jonas Mouton). He showed me a little something today."
As for his own season, Ross has only played in a handful of snaps, as an ankle injury early in the first game has sidelined him for much of the first two games. This week though, he will be out there no matter what.
"Oh I'll be back," he promised. "I'm about 90%, but I can't sit out one more game. It's hurting inside man."
As for more visits, he said, "No, not really, but I'm planning on going to see Rob (Bolden). I'm probably going when Penn State plays Michigan."
However, Ross said there is no question he will be back in Ann Arbor.
"I'm definitely coming back up."
