Introducing Garrett Dinicola

Even though he missed the first half of the 2010 season, Mandeville's Garrett Dinicola still managed to put up respectable numbers his Junior season. As a result, he's already caught the eye of several programs around the region and is likely to catch more before it's all said and done.

Garrett Dinicola Profile

"Right now I'm hearing from Middle Tennessee, East Carolina, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, North Texas and South Alabama," says Mandeville wideout Garrett Dinicola.

At 6-2, 180 lbs. he definitely has the size to play wide receiver at the next level, but those aren't the only assets he possesses. Dinicola clocked in at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash at a combine recently.

"I'm really quick," Dinicola says, stating that it's likely the best aspect of his game. "It helps me get to the ball."

That's an easy statement to make, but none of it matters if players can't back it up on the field. Luckily for him, Dinicola doesn't have that issue. Although he missed the first half of his junior year with a nagging groin injury, he still managed to wrangle in six touchdown passes.

With the attention he's been getting, it makes sense that the upcoming senior is slated to have a busy Summer. In addition to his school's 7-on-7 events, he's trying to squeeze in as many camps as possible over the next several months.

"I think I'm going to North Texas, Middle Tennessee, ECU, South Alabama, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt," he says. "I'm going to try to fit them all on my schedule, but we'll see."

During those trips, Dinicola will be checking out each program to see what they have to offer. To that end, he's got a pretty good idea of what he's looking for in a future college.

"Really, academics mainly. I want to be a doctor, so I'm looking for high academic schools," he says. "As far as football, the will to win. I want some playing time and the opportunity to get on the field."

Stay tuned to for more on Garrett as the Summer progresses.
