Catching Up: Seth Roberts

Earlier this week a newspaper mistakenly reported that Pearl River Community College wideout Seth Roberts had signed with Middle Tennessee. While the talented playmaker says that he's not quite sure where that he came from he does admit that he's talking with the Blue Raiders and a few more.

Seth Roberts Profile

During his two years at Pearl River, Roberts has amassed over 1,000 receiving yards to go along with 10 touchdowns. The 6-2, 195 pounder maintains that his big play ability is what makes him stand out.

"I make plays. I'm just a playmaker," Roberts says. "That's what I work for and that's what I do."

So far his playmaking ability has caught the attention of a trio of schools: Middle Tennessee, Miami and Minnesota. At this point he hasn't received an offer from any of the three, but he's maintaining contact with all of them and plans on taking visits over the next several weeks.

"I want to go to a school that I know has a great program and I know their coach is going to be there as long as I'm there," he says when asked what he's looking for out of a program. "I also want to have a good relationship with my wide receiver coach and head coach. That's a big part of my decision."

Roberts went on to say that he would ultimately love to wind up in the ACC – a result of his upbringing in Tallahassee as a die-hard Seminole fan, but that he also isn't limiting his possibilities.

"I like Middle Tennessee," he says. "They're pretty high on my chart because that's all I've really been talking to and I can tell they really care."

For now the next steps are working the phones, making visits and earning that elusive first offer. Roberts plans to enroll during the Summer, which gives him more time to work with and once he arrives on campus he'll have three years to play two.

Stay tuned to for more on Seth and other prospects for the 2012 signing class.
