Jamie Carr Profile
"I liked the visit. They treated me good and showed me a lot," Carr says of his recent visit to Murfreesboro. "They let me watch how they practiced right before their game with the Ragin' Cajuns and I liked that a lot."
Head Coach Kermit Davis has been personally recruiting Jamie and seems to have made an impact on the 6-3, 185 pound guard.
"I think he's a good coach, overall and has his team running," Carr says of his impression of Davis. "I looked at his record and I think he just broke some record recently."
Carr went on to say that he liked the run and gun style that he saw out of the Blue Raiders, which emulates the way his high school team plays. That style of offense allows Jamie to really use his skill set at either the point or the two guard.
"If I wanted to play professional ball, I think I'd play the one, so I would want to work on that, but I'm really pretty open" he says when asked which position he'd prefer to focus on at the next level.
Middle Tennessee isn't the only school to have taken notice of him to this point. In addition to the Blue Raiders he's also hearing from Western Kentucky, Northern Kentucky and Central Wyoming.
"I like a big fanbase, the atmosphere and how the fans turn out. It helps me play," Carr says of what he's looking for in a program. "I wouldn't say being close to home matters at all and I wouldn't mind sitting out my freshman year but the second year I'd like to see the court."
For now Jamie is focused on his senior year and improving his overall game. While he's a solid all-around player, he maintains that he's working on his creating a more fluid three-point shot and that he's already improved vastly over last season. We will continue to be in touch with Jamie over the course of his senior year and will give you plenty of updates along the way.
