Kermit Davis' squad looks to get back on track after a heart-breaking loss to Sun Belt Conference foe Louisiana-Monroe. They will travel up I-65 to face the Governors of Austin Peay for the 135th meeting between the two schools. Middle Tennessee State holds a sight edge in the overall series 73-61, but the Govs have been strong in the series of late, including an 83-67 win last year in Murphy Center.

Who to watch: Drake Reed, a 6-5 forward, is the Govs leading scorer averaging 14.7 points/game. Of late, Derek Wright has been playing very well. Wright is a 5-9 guard who is averaging 9.7 point/game, but in his last 5 games his average is 15.4 points/game.

Keys for MTSU: First and foremost the Blue Raiders need to get over Sunday's devastating loss. If the Blue Raiders come in hung over from Sunday, the Govs will make it an uphill battle for the Blue Raiders.

Secondly, the Blue Raiders need to find a go-to guy on offense. With Adam Volgelsburg out with a foot injury, the Blue Raiders have struggled from the perimeter.

Thirdly, the Blue Raiders, when on defense, need to keep the Austin Peay guards in front of them. The guards for the Govs are quick and they can shoot the ball. It will take a great defensive game to slow down the outside game of Austin Peay.

Following this game, the Blue Raiders will travel west to take on the Memphis Tigers on Dec. 23.
