Sticking Close To Home talks with Middle Tennessee's latest commit

Riverdale High School senior center, Travis Lilienthal, decided being close to home and playing college football was the best route to go when he decided to commit to MTSU. The six foot three and a half inch, 250 pound offensive lineman is the second addition to the MTSU offensive recruiting class. was able to speak with Travis after he made his decision to be a Blue Raider.

Travis made the decision to go to MTSU for many reasons, but the biggest one was the location. The Murfreesboro native wanted to stay close to home, but also wanted to play college football. "I grew up in Murfreesboro; I have always thought it would be neat to play for MTSU. When the opportunity presented itself, I had to take it," Travis would say on his decision to choose MTSU over such schools as Austin Peay University, Tennessee Tech, and Mississippi State. Travis also likes Coach Stockstill and his staff, saying that they are, "positive, classy, and easy to talk and get along with."

When asked about deciding to choose Middle Tennessee State University half through the season, he laughed and replied, "Half? I think you forgot I play for Riverdale, we are only a third of the way done with our season." He would go on to say, in a non-joking manner, "I have wanted MTSU to offer me; I have always thought it would be neat to play there, even before I got serious into football. I waited and waited, and when the offer came, I took it." Travis also feels MTSU is heading in the right direction, and wants to be a part of the transformation. Travis would say, "MTSU just seems to be getting bigger and better every year, and trying to improve from the last season to the next."
