Middle Tennessee on top

For many high schoolers, college is an opportunity to get away for home for a few years. But for one Siegel product, the hometown school might be the place to go.

Jaiari Dunaway Profile

"MTSU is definitely number one," says Jaiari Dunaway, an outside linebacker from Murfreesboro's Siegel High School. "I know about Coach Stockstill. He's built up the team pretty good. So far I've talked to him, the defensive coordinator and the offensive line coach is my recruiter and he was pretty interested in me."

Headed into the final stretch of his junior year, Dunaway already measures up at 6-3 and 218 lbs. That's certainly one reason why he's already hearing from several big name programs. In addition to Middle Tennessee he's been contacted by Syracuse, Ole Miss, LSU, UTC and Western Kentucky.

When asked what the biggest factors on choosing a school were, Jaiari said that he's looking for a school that will work with him on the academic side of things. He admits to slacking at times and says that he's an average student, so he's interested in the academic tutoring a potential school can provide.

"Athletic wise, they gotta be pretty good," he adds with a laugh.

Jaiari attended Middle Tennessee's Spring Game and was unable to make it to the Ole Miss scrimmage this weekend. He's not sure of any other visits coming up on the horizon.
