MT lands first 2011 commit

Middle Tennessee landed its first verbal commitment for the 2011 class, and they didn't have to look too far to find him.

"I went to Junior Day and got really interested. Then I went to the camp and met all the coaches and I really liked it," says Briarcrest Christian's Jerrold Frazier. "It's close to home, too, and it's one of the best public schools in the nation."

Those factors were enough to make the 6-0, 230 lb. defensive end decide that Middle Tennessee is where he wants to play his college ball. He committed to the Blue Raiders earlier this week. According to Frazier, MTSU was at the top of his radar from the beginning, but they weren't the only school talking to him.

"MTSU was always first," Frazier says. "Southern Illinois' coach called me and wanted me to come to a camp and Murray State was close to offering me, too."

Blue Raider head coach Rick Stockstill also made an impression on the talented defensive lineman. Frazier had the opportunity to meet him during his visit on campus.

"He's a great guy to be around," Frazier says. "He's really funny and he's just a good football coach."
