Hollins Talks About his Gopher Visit

This past weekend, basketball recruit Andre Hollins was on campus for a visit. Hollins is a 6-foot-1, 185 combo guard from Memphis, Tennessee who has offers from Minnesota, Stanford, Auburn, Harvard, and Mississippi.

Ranked as the number 30 shoot guard in the country, Andre Hollins an athletic player who can get to the hoop to score almost at will. He also has a great jumper that he can let fly. Whoever nabs Hollins will get a smart and athletic player who will be a solid college player.

How was your visit to Minnesota? What did you get to do specifically?

My trip was good, I got to meet with the academic advisor, the dean at the Carlson school of business, and I spent time with the team. I also went to the football game.

What was your favorite thing about the visit?

My favorite part was eating at The Capital Grille and touring the campus.

Did you get to spend some time hanging out with the basketball team? If so, how was that?

Yes, I spent Friday and Saturday night with the team. I really enjoyed it. They are really cool people.

How was meeting coach Smith? What did he have to say to you?

The meeting with Coach Smith went well. He wanted me to know that there is a need for me at Minnesota.

How does Minnesota compare to your other visits so far?

It's hard to compare because all of them have been absolutely awesome.
