News and Notes -- 10/14

Updates on injured players, Mike Rallis, Kim Royston, and Michael Carter as well as hearing from coach Tim Brewster on turning 50.

Injury Updates:

Mike Rallis, who has been sidelined for a couple of weeks, is back practicing with the team. Coach Brewster mentioned after practice that he expects Rallis to be available to play this weekend but he doesn't expect him to start or log full time minutes. Ryan Grant and Aaron Hill will continue to fill in for Rallis at the strong side linebacker position.

Cornerback Michael Carter who didn't travel to Madison due to a toe injury was also back at practice this week. Coach Brewster said he expects Carter to back to 100% for the game Saturday against Purdue.

There is still bad news on the Kim Royston injury front. Coach Brewster commented on Royston's process say, "It's just like I said, it's a frustrating, tough process for Kim. And each and every day he's out there working, pushing, trying to get back on the field. But to be perfectly honest, the answer to that question would be no."

Record Watch:

With Adam Weber seemingly climbing up every Big Ten career-passing record category each week, another Gopher has a great chance to be another Big Ten record holder against Purdue. Cornerback/kick returner Troy Stoudermire needs just 45 yards to surpass former Michigan State standout Derrick Mason's record of 2,575 kick return yards.
