News and Notes 10/30

Senior Fullback Jon Hoese is doubtful to play Saturday. Hoese suffered a hamstring injury against Penn State. Ed Cotton should replace Hoese at fullback and is listed as the starter on the depth chart.

Left tackle Dom Alford played a lot in place of Ed Olson and that looks to be the case again this week. Ed Olson is till having ankle trouble but could end up taking some snaps in the game. Expect Alford to get the start.

On defense the depth chart remains the same. Troy Stoudermire will get his second career start at cornerback. Similar to last week there is an open competition for the other cornerback spot. Sophomore Michael Carter and junior Kyle Henderson will battle it out this week in practice to see who gets the start. Henderson got the start opposite of Stoudermire last game.

Defensive end/tackle Ra'Shede Hageman was reinstated to the team this week after serving his suspension last week. Coach Horton mentioned he did everything the coaches asked of him last week and he earned the right to return to the team.

Defensive tackle Austin Hahn has been out several weeks because of his knee and he is doubtful for the game Saturday. Hahn is a backup but has seen some time earlier this season.

Don't expect to see MarQueis Gray lined up at quarterback anytime soon. Coach Jeff Horton reiterated that both Adam Weber and Gray are two of their top offensive players and it would hurt the team to not have them in the game at the same time.
