Defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman and cornerback Michael Carter are out for the rest of the season to focus entirely on academics…

Defensive tackle Brandon Kirksey has been suspended for 1 game…Horton said he likes Kirksey's passion and energy but there is a "right way and a wrong way" to do things as a captain and he didn't do that. Fully anticipate him to come back for Illinois. Horton did mention the suspension had nothing to do with practice issues.

Defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman and cornerback Michael Carter are out for the rest of the season to focus entirely on academics…Horton said both players need to channel their energy in the classroom to remain eligible for the new coach and spring semester.

Offensive guard Matt Carufel is doubtful for Saturday's game after injuring his knee against Ohio State… Matt did have an MRI this week… Horton expects to see him back this year although he wouldn't divulge the diagnosis.

Left tackle Dom Alford doubtful for Saturday's game he is out with a tweaked leg.

Ryan Wynn will be the back-up at all 5 positions along the offensive line.

Tight end Curtis Hughes could get time, if someone goes down, along the offensive line. He will practice some during the week at various spots along the offensive line.

Fullback Jon Hoese won't be ready for this week but he should be ready for next week if he keeps on his path to get healthy.

Donnell Kirkwood will miss this week again with a leg injury.

KGM will be the starter at defensive end.

Anthony Jacobs will move inside to defensive tackle.
