Team Preview: Siena has dominated the MAAC conference winning three consecutive conference tiles but this season will be a little different. Mitch Buonaguro takes over as head coach replacing Fran McCaffery who is now the head coach at the University of Iowa. Luckily for Buonaguro, double-double machine Ryan Rossiter returns for his senior season to give the Saints a go-to post player. Rossiter set a school record with 22 double-doubles last season. The 6-foot-9, 260 pound forward averaged 13.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game last season.
Preseason Honors: Siena senior forward Ryan Rossiter was voted as the MAAC Pre- season Player of the Year. Rossiter showed the hype is deserved when he opened the season with 27 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Vermont.
Series History: Monday's match up will the second meeting between the two teams. The Gophers won the first matchup when they defeated the Saints in the second round of the 1989 NCAA Tournament.
