Offensive tackle Dom Alford and offensive guard Matt Carufel need to keep progressing this week to have a chance to play.
Interim coach Jeff Horton said he would go into this week of practice expecting the offensive line situation to be the same as last game with Ryan Wynn the back-up at all five positions and tight end Curtis Hughes a possible candidate for playing time as an offensive lineman.
Fullback Jon Hoese got better towards last week and that is why he played against Michigan State, but he was not 100% percent healthy. He has been working hard to rehab his injured hamstring with the team training staff as well as another therapist.
Horton said he expects Hoese to keep progressing this week and he should be closer to 100% come game time.
Defensive tackle Austin Hahn is out at least two weeks. Hahn had a meniscus tear that was repaired so he is recovering from that. Horton said he hopes to have Hahn back for the Iowa game.
Captain defensive tackle Brandon Kirksey has been reinstated to the team after serving a one game suspension against MSU. Kirksey should give the defensive a lne a boost with his talent and leadership on the field.
