Shortell Knows U is Right Fit

Goldensports.net caught up with Gopher quarterback commit Max Shortell to find out how his official visit to Minnesota went, his thoughts on new head coach Jerry Kill and how he fits in the Gopher offense.

How was finally taking your official visit?
"It was a good experience. I had some time to talk with the players, which is something I haven't done. It also gave me plenty of time to get to know the new staff."

What were you impressions of coach Kill?
"He's a real honest guy. Everyone I have talked to about coach Kill said that I will love playing for him."

Did he discuss how you would fit in the offense?
"Yeah he believes I'm a good enough athlete to run the offense and I'm only going to get faster and more mobile."

What was the best part of your visit?
"At the end of the visit coach Kill sat down with each of the recruits and basically told the truth as to if we were going to fit in his system or if we were his type of player. I respected coach Kill's honesty and look forward to playing for him."

Do you have any idea who you will be rooming with?
"No, I have no idea."

Have the coaches let you pick out a number yet or do you have a number you'd like to get?
"That hasn't been brought up and it doesn't really matter to me but if 11 is open I will pick that."

Any idea what you want to major in yet?
"No idea."

So what are you plans for National Signing Day?
"Our school usually does something but I don't know for sure yet."
