2012 Intro: Andrew Larson

The 2012 instate class is regarded by some as being very deep and talented compared to recent years. Goldensports.net was able to catch up with Eden Prairie (Minn.) Eden Prairie running back Andrew Larson to get the latest on his recruitment.

School: Eden Prairie (5A)
Position: Running back

Prep Career

In the 2010 season Larson rushed for 1,689 yards and 21 touchdowns on 215 carries. Eden Prairie fell to Brainerd in the first round of the state tournament.

In 2009 he rushed for 738 yards and 4 touchdowns while playing behind Greg Schaeffer.

Larson was named All-State first team by the Pioneer Press and Star Tribune and was also named to the Kare 11 All-Metro Team.


Currently Larson holds no offers but has been invited to the Minnesota and Iowa State junior days. Wisconsin, Harvard and Dartmouth are also pursuing the Eden Prairie star.

When asked about which schools he would like to receive offer from Larson said, "I would really like to receive offer from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Harvard and Boston College."

Larson's teammate, linebacker Drake Michaelson, is also drawing interest from the Gophers—having been invited to the Minnesota junior day as well.

When asked about the possibility of playing together at the next level Larson said, "He's one of my best friends. We have even talked about that being a possibility, there is a good chance that it could happen, but it is far too early."

Besides football Larson has run varsity track as a freshman and played junior varsity lacrosse last season.

Right now he is still undecided on what sport he will participate in during the spring.
