Drake Michaelson Reflects on U Junior Day

Coach Jerry Kill and his staff held their very first junior day at the University of Minnesota. One of the recruits in attendance was Eden Prairie (Minn.) linebacker Drake Michaelson. Go inside to learn how his visit went.

Drake Michaelson got his first chance to meet with the new Gophers coaching staff and came away very impressed.

"The coaching staff was impressive," he said. "Coach Kill impressed me a lot, I didn't know a lot about him but I really liked what he had had to say."

While on campus Michaelson was able to take a tour of almost all of the Golden Gophers' facilities.

"The facilities are the best I've seen. The tour was perfect, the staff showed us just about everything except for the weight room, but otherwise I was really impressed."

He was able to meet both with coach Jerry Kill and linebackers coach Bill Miller. Although he didn't receive an offer on his visit Michaelson feels that they seemed interested in him.

Coach Kill has invited Michaelson back to attend both spring practices and the spring game, and that he is free to call and come to sporting events on campus any time.
