Tubby Smith on scoring only one point in the last four minutes:
"I don't know. I don't know how many turnovers we had during that stretch. There were a few. So when you don't have the ball, you're giving it up, it's going to be tough. And then second shots. We gave them opportunities and we missed some, simple as that."
On struggling with Michigan State's full-court press:
"Well our ball handling has been a little suspect and that's what teams are doing is pressuring Blake [Hoffarber] trying to keep it out of his hands. We just have to make better decisions."
On Rodney Williams's apparent knee injury:
"Obviously he wasn't running very well. You saw the game, you saw him limping up and down, dragging it so he must have been hurt. I can't read his mind but obviously he wasn't himself."
On keeping the freshmen calm at the end of the game.
"Well you can see they get a little antsy, a little nervous. That comes with experience, or lack of experience. It just takes time."
On if the Gophers can win if Blake Hoffarber struggles to score:
"I don't know, we didn't win tonight, that's for sure. We tried a lot of ways to try and get him the ball but he has a pretty good defender on him. I mean you got Kalin Lucas is a pretty good defender. It's going to be tough to score when he's right in your jock. He's just quicker."
On if he can get a definitive answer to Al Nolen's injury status:
"Well I don't know if we are ever going to get a definitive. Nothing definite about being injured, it's whenever you're able to go. And you know has got the boot on, he's healing. You can't rush Mother Nature."
