Talented Lineman Wants to Play in Big Ten

Zack Johnson, the talented offensive lineman from Eastview (Minn.), recently visited the University of Minnesota for junior day. Goldensports.net was able to catch up with him and find out how his recruitment has been early in this recruiting cycle.

Prior to his visit, Zack Johnson had been in contact with linebackers coach Bill Miller. He has also visited South Dakota State University and University of North Dakota junior days.

Johnson listed some of the factors that will be important in his decision making process include a good education, location and playing time. He elaborated on location. "I want to try and play in the Big Ten mostly," he said. "Not so far that my parents won't be able to come watch me play."

In the off-season Johnson plans on working on his speed, playing with better pad level and aggressiveness. He hopes to play either guard or center at the collegiate level. Minnesota is the current leader and he has also heard from Nebraska and Wisconsin.

In addition to football Johnson also throws shot put and discus in track and field.
