Welch Enjoys Minnesota Visit

This past weekend, JUCO guard Julian Welch visited Minnesota and attended the Gophers' last regular season game against Penn State. Welch spoke with GoldenSports.net about what he liked about his recent visit.

When asked how his weekend at Minnesota went, the 6-foot-3 point guard said, "It went real well. Definitely no complaints on my end. I liked what I saw."

As for his favorite part of the trip, Welch liked the comradery of the team. He enjoyed, "Just being around the coaches and player," Welch said about the team.

An experienced player in the JUCO ranks, Welch also saw the possibility of being able to help his future college team. He added that he enjoyed, "Seeing how I can contribute my talents to the team next year if I decide to bring my talents to Minnesota."

Going into the weekend, Welch was most excited to take in the atmosphere of The Barn on game day. Despite a canceled flight on Friday afternoon, he made it to the Twin Cities in time to take in the Gophers' game against the Penn State Nittany Lions. "I liked it a lot," he said.
