Lauer Likes Energy of U Practice

Wayzata (Minn.) offensive lineman Ben Lauer was one of the many recruits at the Gophers spring practice Friday. GoldenSports.net was able to catch up with him and get his thoughts on the spring game as well as his future plans.

"It was really good, it was really cool to come up and see the practice," said Lauer. "I thought the practices were really similar to Wayzata's. I liked how it was really up tempo and high energy, everyone was really competing and getting into it."

Lauer got a chance to speak with coaches [Jerry] Kill and [Matt] Limegrover about attending summer camp and sending over film for the staff to review.

Lauer says that his rehabbing of his knee is progressing well and has moved on to more strength and explosion exercises to get back to the level he was playing at prior to injury. He had suffered the injury in the fourth game of last season.

His plans for the future include visits to the Wisconsin spring game next weekend and then the North Dakota State spring game and junior day the following weekend.
