Levine Preparing to Start

Golden Gopher signee Grayson Levine hasn't arrived on campus yet but he already has his sights set on winning a starting safety spot.

How was the Gopher spring game?
"It was great. It just makes me excited. I've been to practice a lot and also position meetings so I've just been spending time learning coverages and schemes and I've picked a lot up quickly. [I'm] just trying to get ahead and as prepared as possible to come in and compete right away."

Have you been working out this spring or running track?
"I've been working out four days a week at Explosive Edge Athletics. It's really helped me in the past three years and I'm up to 205 now so I'm just excited to get on campus and show everyone what I can do. I definitely think I will be on another level coming into camp compared to the rest of the kids."

Do you talk to Andrew Larson and Drake Michaelson about Minnesota?
"I talk to Larson and Michelson a lot because of playing with them as well as training with them. They definitely are great kids and good athletes. They both absolutely love Minnesota."

What safety position do the Minnesota coaches want you to play?
"Not sure yet. I mean my goal is to start this season and I think Royston has his position locked up and I'm not sure exactly what they will play him at."

Do you know who are rooming with yet next year?
"I'm rooming with Quinn Bauducco and Steve Montgomery so far. I've only talked to Steve on Facebook but he seems tight. Quinn is the man, great kid."

Do you know when you move in the U?
"June 11, so in about a month and a half."
