Demitrious Davis Discusses Gophers

Last week saw two new wide receiver prospects garnering offers from Minnesota. Twins Demitrious and Chris Davis of Fitch High School (Oh.) are among the latest players to receive an offer from the Maroon and Gold. GoldenSports.net caught up with Demitrious to discuss his surprise offer from the Gophers.

When Davis, a 5-foot-11, 182-pound receiver got the news that Minnesota had offered he and his twin brother Chris a scholarship, he was pleasantly surprised. "I was really excited about it because I feel the new coaching staff is going to turn the program back around to where it was before," said Davis.

Davis has not been contact with the coaching staff except for sending his highlight film to Minnesota.

Both Demitrious and Chris have been receiving plenty of interest from a variety of schools. Demitrious mentioned that he has been on visits to Kent State, Akron, Indiana, Ohio State, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh.

The duo has offers from Arkansas, Boise State, Iowa, and UCLA among others. Demitrious and Chris plan on attending the same school with their teammate, running back William Mahone making a very skilled and dangerous trio for their future team.

Davis has been staying busy keeping in contact with the schools he is interested in. "So far I been trying to stay in contact with every school and call them at least once a week," said Davis.

Although time consuming, the communication is paying off. "I look at it as paying the school and the coaching staff back for show me the love by offering," he said.

With lots of interest, Davis plans on taking more visits this summer. "I'm trying to get out and visit the schools. I'm going make a top-10 list in June," said Davis.

What does Davis think he can bring to his future team? "A playmaker that wants to win and the heart of a lion," he said.
