Chesson Sought After by Big Ten Schools

One of the many wide receiver recruits on the Gophers' radar is Jehu Chesson of Ladue Horton Watkins High School (Mo.). Chesson, who holds a handful of Big Ten offers including one from Minnesota, took the time to chat with about his recruitment.

Standing 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, Chesson has been attracting the attention of some of the top teams in the Midwest. "I would say it is going," he said of the recruiting process. "I thank God for the success and look to him for the future," Chesson added.

During the spring evaluation period Chesson has been in contact with a variety of BCS schools. "Right now a lot actually," said Chesson of the schools he has been staying in touch with. "Coaches visit the school and some have called."

"Iowa, Mizzou, Oklahoma State, Northwester, [and] Purdue. Those are who I have been in contact with in the last week or so," he said.

Chesson holds offers from Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Purdue, Cincinnati and Minnesota among others. Although he has had an offer from the Gophers for some time, he has not been contact with the Maroon and Gold recently.

With so much interest and a handful of offers, Chesson is looking for two things in a school; "Education and offensive scheme," he said. "I want it to be in an offense I will have an active role on," he said.

A hard worker by nature, Chesson knows what he can bring to his future team. "I feel I contribute to my team by leadership and my prowess on and off the field," said Chesson.
