The Gophers are recruiting Davis as a linebacker but there are some schools that are looking at him to play to fullback at the collegiate level. He contributes this to his recent growth over the past year.
"I think the reason some schools are thinking about switching me around because of how much I have grown in the past year," he explained. "They might want to see me at another position but right now Minnesota is recruiting me as a linebacker."
Davis knows some of the factors that he is looking for in a potential school.
"I just want to fit in with the program and like the coaches and feel comfortable with them," Davis said. "I also know that there is a life outside of football and I want to like school and feel comfortable at the school."
Davis said he does not know much about the University of Minnesota or the football program but he will be making a visit next week.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder is preparing hard this offseason for his senior season.
"I work really hard," he said. "I try to get out and run and lift every day. I never stop working and football is pretty much my life. It's what I want to do. I've been working on colliding with lineman and getting off blocks better using my hands. I've also been running sprints to get faster and a lot of lateral drills to get quicker."
Over the summer Davis will attend camps at N.C. State, UNC, Wake Forest, Clemson and Virginia. He hopes the exposure help him add more offers to a list that includes VMI, Gardner Webb, Western Michigan and Minnesota. Davis plans to make a commitment before the start of his senior season.
