Davis Enjoys Visit

Drew Davis, linebacker from Needham Broughton (N.C.) visited the University of Minnesota on Wednesday with his mother and head coach. GoldenSports.net was able to speak with Davis about how his trip went.

"We got up there late on Tuesday night so we really didn't get much of a chance to see much when we first got there," Davis said. "Then on Wednesday we got to watch the players run conditioning drills and tour the campus and facilities then I sat down with my position coach and Coach Kill."

What did the coaching staff have to say to the talented linebacker?

"We talked for a long time about football and how I would fit in to the system," he said. "Coach Kill basically talked to me about his background, his coaching philosophies and what the university has to offer me not just as a player but as a student as well.

Minnesota's faculties really stood out to 6-foot-3, 212-pound playmaker.

"My favorite part was probably seeing the weight room, all of the facilities they all looked top notch and the stadium was amazing," he said.

How big of an impact does this have on his decision making process?

"The trip had a big impact on me," he said. "Right now Minnesota is definitely number one on my list I'm definitely leaning that way. I still have to sit down with my family and talk with them about everything and then see how everything goes the rest of the month."

Davis said he will be attending camps at N.C. State, Virginia, Wake Forest, Clemson and North Carolina. He currently holds offers from Minnesota, Gardner Webb, VMI and Western Michigan.
