Mollberg Impresses at Iowa Camp

Detroit Lakes (Minn.) quarterback Joe Mollberg is hoping his recent performance at Iowa's football camp will lead to an offer from the Hawkeyes.

What camps did you recently attend and how did they go?
"I went to NIU and that was a terrible run camp. They were not very organized and it seemed they didn't even look at the recruits.

"I also went to Iowa it went really, really well. They had me stay after and talk and go over things. I know they love my release and mechanics and my footwork. I will be calling them and we will have a talk on what's going to happen with scholarships and what not."

How were the Iowa coaches? Did you get along with them?
"Yeah they were awesome. They are really laid back and chill. On Friday I had a meeting with Coach O'Keefe the offensive coordinator and we went over the mental part of the game on the white board. That went well."

Do you think your abilities as a quarterback would fit well in their offense?
"Yeah I know they like starting under the center, which I am obviously used to doing. Many people don't know how good my arm actually is and I believe it's the best part of my game. I just don't have the chance to use it much in our veer offense."

Do you have time frame for you decision?
"If I don't get the Iowa offer I believe I will be committing to NDSU in the next month or so if it doesn't all work out. I feel NDSU gives me a great opportunity as well."
