McAdams Has One, Looking For More

Bellaire (Texas) athlete Melvin McAdams received his first offer from the University of Minnesota. Could he be on the verge of landing more?

"Well they told my head coach but it felt really good," McAdams said about garnering a Minnesota offer. "I been putting in hard work which my highlights show so it was like a dream come true to finally get that first one."

With a Minnesota offer already in hand, McAdams expects other teams to follow suit.

"Almost every school who been recruiting me, but mainly UTEP and the University of Houston," he said when asked who might offer. "LSU called twice yesterday I think they may offer this week. Every school has just been waiting for me to get that first one now they should come rolling in."

Although McAdams is waiting to land more offers, he has started to research the school that has already extended a scholarship.

"Yea, I have been researching a lot about Minnesota," he said. "It looks good so far."

One aspect of the Golden Gopher program really appeals to the 5-foot-7, 150-pounder.

"I like the plan that [the coaches] have to get Minnesota back on the map because I love being the underdog," he said.

McAdams doesn't have any trips scheduled but said he will officially visit Minneapolis this fall.
