Montgomery helped lead his team to a 7-3 record during his senior season. He finished his senior season with 67 tackles, with three interceptions and two forced fumbles. He tallied 68 tackles and three interceptions as a junior for the Patriots.

"Yea, I would've been more proactive. I was more lackadaisical."
What was your favorite part about the recruiting process and what was the worst?
"My favorite was taking visits. I wouldn't say anything bad happened."
Why did you end up picking Minnesota?
"Because of its great history, the great conference and early playing time."
What are your goals as a freshman?
"To make the All-Big Ten Team."
