Gophers Among Jackson's Favorites

Wide receiver has been a spot where coach Jerry Kill has stressed a need for added depth. One player on Minnesota's radar is O. Perry Walker (La.) receiver, Raymond Jackson. GoldenSports.net has the latest with Jackson on his recruitment and his list of favorite schools.

The 6-foot-3, 209-pound wide receiver out of Louisiana has been attracting interest from some of the top schools across the country.

"I have offers from Nebraska, Minnesota, Pitt, and TCU," said Jackson.

With four big offers, Jackson is looking for one thing in each school.

"Just commitment," he said when asked what he was looking for in a university. "I don't want to go to a school and it's a whole different story from what we've been talking about. I feel like honesty and commitment is a big key for me."

Lately, Jackson has been in contact with two schools the most.

"I've been talking to TCU and LSU a lot recently," he said.

Although he does not yet have an offer from the in-state Tigers of LSU, they are among his top three schools.

"I like LSU, TCU, and Minnesota," he said. "That's my top three right now, my favorites."

Jackson has held an offer from the Gophers for a long time but hasn't had much recent phone contact with the staff.

"I write them on Facebook but we haven't been in contact or nothing like that."

Despite this, Jackson knows what he likes in the Gophers.

"What I really like about Minnesota is it's kind of like a new program," he said. "They are rebuilding and everything. And you know me going into college, I would like to start out of being a part of something that's new."

Jackson's attitude toward the game of football fits well with the vision of the new coaching staff at Minnesota.

"As a player I feel like I like to get things done," he said. "I'm self-motivated and it doesn't take a lot to get me going. I make plays. I listen. I'm a team player."
