Presser Quotes: MarQueis Gray

MINNEAPOLIS — Starting quarterback MarQueis Gray answered questions from the media on Tuesday.

On if he looks at the game as a competition between himself and Matt Barkley:
"No, not at all. It's just us against them, that's all I can look at it as. If we make less mistakes than they did then good things will happen for us."

On why the team is better than last year:
"I'd say a lot more disciplined that Coach Kill and his staff have instilled in us players. You see guys are staring to buy into this program and we believe in Coach Kill a lot. Ever since spring ball and the winter conditioning, since then we have just been buying into what he's been preaching to us."

On the offensive balance:
"I'm not sure, the coaches are getting that squared away now. I'm pretty sure we're going to be balanced but based of what they do depends on what we will do."

On opening the season at USC:
"It's big-time. They're a great football team. Our team has been looking great, we have been looking forward to this moment since the end of last year—carrying over those two wins to enter this season. We're just looking forward to playing USC."
