Harbison Ready For U Visit

Mallard Creek (N.C.) wide receiver Jamel Haribson and the Mavericks have been off to a hot start to this year. On Tuesday night they took on the Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology Cardinals. GoldenSports.net was able to catch up with Haribson to recap his game and his plans for his weekend visit to Minnesota.

Mallard Creek entered Tuesday night's game undefeated, ranked No. 1 in the state of North Carolina and nationally ranked coming off wins over Butler and Sun Valley the previous two weeks.

Following up last week's five-catch, one-touchdown performance against Sun Valley, Harbison led the Mavericks to a 42-18 victory over the Cardinals. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder finished the night with eight receptions—three of his catches going for touchdowns—and 149 receiving yards. He also added an 83-yard kick-off return for a touchdown on the opening kick of the game.

This weekend, when the Minnesota Golden Gophers take on the Aggies of New Mexico State, Harbison plans on taking his first official visit. Harbison explained what he will be looking for when he visits.

"I want to learn about the education, atmosphere and really how the fans are," he said. "I just really want to see if Minnesota feels like home."

The other schools rounding out Harbison's top four are Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and East Carolina. Harbison plans to take visits to all four schools and then make his commitment after all of his visits have been made.

Harbison currently has Minnesota and Vanderbilt as his top two teams with both East Carolina and Wake Forest close behind. The Golden Gophers and Commodores have been neck and neck throughout the whole summer in their pursuit of the talented wide receiver.
