The May evaluation period is nearing an end and it's time for rankings, voting for pre-season "Hot 100" as well as All-American and all-region teams.
We've been busy beating the bushes for the top prospects in the Big Ten region during May and when it comes to voting in June, there's a prospect that will get high marks across the board with college recruiters and recruiting analysts alike.
While everyone talks about Cleveland's Ted Ginn Jr. and deservedly so, a prospect that will be just as highly recruited is Minneapolis (Minn.) Breck standout Brandon Robinson.
Robinson is the best athlete we've seen on film this year. Some may question the level of competition but Robinson is a football player, period, the end.
Robinson plays wide receiver and cornerback for Breck and he is an outstanding athlete. He has natural football instincts and he's not afraid to hit or get hit.
Brandon is a hard-nosed football player that will catch the ball over the middle and on bubble screens to get tough yardage. He's very patient and will wait for a play to develop.
What I liked the most about Brandon Robinson is he has no fear, he's very good after the catch, has a nice burst, shows good vision and makes it look so easy out there.
College coaches have a gem in Brandon Robinson. He's just as good a prospect on either side of the ball. Brandon is being recruited as an athlete but he has natural cornerback skills and instincts.
What makes Brandon so valuable is that he has the coverage skills to play in space and he's tough enough to play inside as a safety. He could get some looks at wide receiver as well.
If being a standout on both sides of the ball weren't enough, Robinson is also a former soccer player and he shows his kicking skills on tape as well. Brandon has a powerful left leg and he has 45-yard field goal range.
Brandon Robinson will be a Midwest "Hot 100" member as well as a pre-season all-region selection. He will also be given national "Hot 100" and pre-season All-American consideration this summer.
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Standord and Boston College have already offered scholarships.
