Another highlight of Anyanwu's visit was getting to spend time talking with head coach Jerry Kill.
"Coach Kill is super impressed," Anyanwu said. "He talked about my toughness and athleticism and if I'm open to different positions. I have to get a little bigger because they are looking at me playing tight end possibly—I just got to put on some weight."
Although the 6-foot-4, 200-pound athlete hasn't played tight end, he certainly has the athleticism to create mismatches at the position. As Blaine's starting quarterback this season, Anyanwu rushed for 1,130 yards and 18 touchdowns while passing for 926 yards and five scores.
Because of his on field production and potential, Anwayu has already earned scholarship offers from Air Force, North Dakota, Northern Iowa and South Dakota State—but he's still hoping for one more. A scholarship offer from the in-state Golden Gophers. The question is, will he get it?
"By the end of the Gophers' season the coaches will know for sure about an offer," Anwyanwu explained. "I've been holding out for it."
