Bungum Still Interested in Minnesota

Adam Bungum may not be a well-known for many Gopher fans but the Minnesota native has received more attention as his senior season has progressed. Bungum recently reeled in his first Division I offer and looks to add more in the future.

Triton's (Minn.) Bungum picked up an offer from Army earlier this month and is excited about the opportunity.

"Recruiting has been going real well," he said. "I received my first D1 offer from Army West Point. I set up an official visit with them for December 2-4 and am setting up officials with North Dakota and Northern Iowa.

Bungum is thankful for his first offer but would like to add more.

"It's very exciting and I'm really relieved to finally get that first offer," he said. "They [Army] have been in my top-five since I started the whole recruiting business and are now at the top of my list with the offer. I'm still open to anything and am considering all my options. I'm looking forward to taking my officials and seeing where I will be going next year. I am still talking to Iowa State, Air Force and Harvard. I'm in a lot of contact with a lot of others as well.

Two other teams that Bungum has been in the most contact with is North Dakota and Northern Iowa.

"I went down to Northern Iowa's game last weekend and had a good time talking to the coaches," he said. "I've been talking to my recruiting coach from UND, Coach [John] Kelling, at least once a week and he is very excited to have me up for my official."

Despite not holding a Gopher offer, Bungum is still attracting interest from the Maroon and Gold.

"We've exchanged some emails, and they've told me that at this point they have a lot of early commits and can't really extend offers at my position, but have said that there may be some decommits with the way the season is going and I'm still on the board and have scholarship potential."
