"Then Saturday we had academic meetings and a bunch of tours and stuff and then went to the basketball game. Then we had dinner later at the stadium and watched team highlights on the big stadium screen from the DQ Club. Then we hung out with the players again.
"Sunday we ate breakfast at the stadium again and then met with Coach Kill for a little bit. We just talked about the future of the Gophers and how were closer to turning around then he thought. Then went to Yudof Hall to tour it and I really like that a lot."
Although Hayes has been on the Minnesota campus numerous times, he did get to tour some new locations and take in a Gopher basketball game.
"I got to see some of the places that I will be able to live at and stuff like that and then got to see the mall at the U again so that was pretty cool," he explained. "I liked going to the basketball game a lot and seeing the atmosphere there."
During his visit, Hayes was hosted freshman offensive lineman Joe Bjorklund.
"He's a cool guy and it was fun hanging out with some of the players," Hayes said.
Hayes, who has been committed to Minnesota since July, will soon get to make it official when he signs his national letter of intent on February 1.
"I'll sign in the court which is the area in between all of the classes and where everybody is before school," Hayes said of his national signing day plans.
