Riese Recieving Big Ten Interest

With a solid offensive line class coming in for 2012, the Gophers will look at add even more depth in the 2013 class. One junior on Minnesota's radar is DC Everest (Wisc.) offensive tackle Connor Riese. GoldenSports.net recently chatted with Riese about his developing recruitment.

Riese is a 6-foot-7, 305-pound lineman out of Schofield, Wisconsin. With ideal size to play tackle in the Big Ten, Riese has been gaining the attention of a number of top programs.

I've been talking to and hearing from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Western Michigan, and Michigan State," he said. "I've taken two unofficial visits to Wisconsin and Minnesota and one to Western Michigan and [I'm] planning one for Michigan State."

Riese was very impressed with his visit to the Gophers.

"I loved it," he said. "The overall atmosphere of the place and the team is great. I love the brand new facilities and stadium and the coaches treat me great there."

One of the things that impressed Riese was the Minnesota coaching staff.

"I really like them and I think they really like me and are very interested," he said. "The thing I like is that they are very honest."

Minnesota also offers the academic program that Riese is interested in.

"Well the sports medicine classes I hear are great at Minnesota and how prestigious the university is," he said.

After being enjoying his visit to the Twin Cities, Riese is hopeful for a Gopher offer in the future.

"I am really hoping so," said Riese when asked if he thought Minnesota would offer. "If I get some sort of scholarship offer from Minnesota that would be great. But I am kind of thinking I will end up getting some kind of scholarship offer."
