Six-foot-8 Burnsville (Minn.) High power forward Ryan Amoroso is taking an unofficial visit this weekend, according to basketball recruiting expert Dave Telep. Soon, he'll narrow his list with an eye on signing in November. This story can also be found on

Minnesota and Marquette have had power forward Ryan Amoroso on campus unofficially. On Saturday, he'll take another one.

"I have an unofficial visit planned with Marquette," Amoroso said. "I'm flying out to Milwaukee this Saturday and coming back on Monday. I just want to get a better feel for the program."

Marquette has already offered a scholarship. "My first offer was from Indiana State, then it was Northern Iowa, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Marquette and Minnesota, and then I just got an offer from Creighton about three days ago."

Still, Amoroso doesn't have any school on speed dial as far as a commitment call goes. "Since the past couple of months, I've been pretty wide open. But now, it's been hectic and a bunch of schools have come on. In the next few days I'll try to sit down and cut five to seven schools off my list."

Wisconsin, Purdue are currently on his list, too. "Those are the other four schools, but at this time they haven't offered me. What I'm looking to do is to sign in November so it's basically like just whatever happens until then I'm open for it. I want to enjoy the experience."

Last season, Amoroso averaged 24 points and 11 boards. He was named to the College Basketball News' Minnesota All-State team. Amoroso is playing for the Nike Magic, along with Gopher recruits Spencer Tollackson and Miles Webb.
