Wipson Has Two Offers

Plymouth (Minn.) Wayzata linebacker Chris Wipson has two scholarship offers but he's hoping to land more.

How has recruiting been going for you?
"Pretty good, I've gotten some interest from a few schools."

What schools have you been in contact with?
"Minnesota, UND, NDSU, Iowa, South Dakota, and some others."

What schools have offered you so far? "North Dakota and South Dakota have offered."

I saw you at one of the Gopher spring practices. How was that?
"I got to talk to the linebacker's coach [Bill Miller] and coach [Jerry] Kill. They said they were very interested but wanted to do a live evaluation before they offered me."

Have you been able to take visits to UND or USD?
"I've been to UND but not USD."

How was the UND visit?
"It was good. I really like the coaching staff."

How have you been preparing for next season?
"I've been mostly lifting weights, doing plyometrics, sprints and playing some 7-v-7."

What's your current height and weight?
"I'm 6-foot-2, 215 pounds."

Do you have any other visits planned for this summer?
"I have gotten a ton of invites to camps, but I am for sure going to Minnesota and Iowa."

When you visits schools, what do you look for to see if it will be a good fit for you?
"First, the coaches how honest and loyal they are and the success of the program. Then the academics and what programs they offer. Last the facilities and the fan base."
