Prep Career Highlights:

As a senior, Pirsig helped lead team to a 10-2 record and a berth in the state quarterfinals. He was named first-team all-state by the Associated Press and the Pioneer Press. He was also named Area Player of the Year by the Fairmont Sentinel. Pirsig is a two-time all-area selection and a two-time all-South Central Conference honoree.

Coach Matt Limegrover's Take:

"Jonah Pirsig is a guy a lot like Philip Nelson as far as a young man who had a lot of national attention—someone who a lot of people knew about. I think he fits in the same category as somebody who was able to see what we're trying to do here and what we're trying to build and being 6-9, 300 pounds is probably a good building block. We're pretty excited about that.

"He's a young man who, he's not a big stiff kid. He's another one who has very good core awareness but he has the long arms and wide wingspan—what you want as a tackle—but also the flexibility and knee bend you need as a successful offensive lineman in the Big Ten."
