Coach Matt Limegrover's Take:

"Rodrick is the kind of guy you need in the Big Ten as far as a running backs go. He's a pounder. He's a big kid. I think he's 28-2 this year as a heavyweight wrestler at about 225. He's just one of those guys that I think people got on him a little bit late. We were fortunate again, Coach Poore was able to kind of dig him out before a lot of people got on him and to Rodrick's credit he stayed loyal to us because of the work Coach Poore did. "He's a guy that [is] going to give us that big-back presence— that pounder—that guy who can control games and squeeze down the clock and help your defense with. His explosiveness is something that just jumped out at us for his size. Actually Coach Claeys went and watched him in the spring at a practice and just blown away by his quickness, his power. He said if don't want him on offense, he'd take him on defense but we're not giving him up."
