Halmon Attracting More Interest

One out of state player who had early interest from the Gophers was Bamberg Ehrhardt (S.C.) defensive back Nicholas Halmon. With a couple new BCS offers, where does Minnesota sit with this rising defender?

Halmon recently picked up a big offer from the Pac 12 when the Arizona Wildcats gave him a call.

"It felt great, it surprised me a little bit when I talked to the coach at school," he said of the Arizona offer.

Along with the scholarship offer from the Wildcats, Halmon recently picked up an offer from Vanderbilt. He now olds offers from Arizona, Alabama State, Charleston Southern, Western Carolina, and Youngstown State.

With a number of offers already, Halmon feels like he might be close to a couple more.

"Hopefully UNC and Virginia Tech probably," he said. "I've been in contact with them for awhile."

Halmon has also been hearing from a number of other top schools recently.

"Clemson, Notre Dame, North Carolina State, LSU, Virginia Tech and a lot more I can't remember," he said.

Halmon also noted that he has been in contact with the Gophers but not as of late.

"I have been receiving a lot of stuff from them still but not too much lately though," he said.

With so many teams interested, Halmon is hoping to impress college coaches by attending a number of camps this summer.

"I'm still planning but, I have Clemson, South Carolina, N.C. State, and UNC kind of scheduled already and I have some more."
