McClain Still Likes Gophers

Without any defensive tackle commits for 2013, the Gophers are looking to add some depth with the addition of Northwest Mississippi Community College defender Jerome McClain. The talented tackle picked up an offer from the Gophers last month and still considers the Maroon and Gold one of his top schools.

Besides Minnesota, McClain has had increased interest from another Big Ten school.

"The same two schools (Minnesota and Indiana) are coming at me heavy, talking about possible visit dates," he said. "But nothing set up right now."

McClain has been staying in constant contact with the Gopher staff.

"Yes, very often," McClain said when asked if he is remaining in touch with Minnesota's coaches. "They been sharing links about the campus and keeping me updated on the program and surrounding area."

McClain currently lists Minnesota and Indiana as his two favorite schools at the moment but did mention that he has been forming a great relationship with the Gopher coaching staff.

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound defensive tackle plans to make a decision on his future this November following visits to his top schools.
