Myrick Discloses Key Factors

Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep track and football standout Jalen Myrick holds offers from Minnesota, Colorado State, Louisiana Lafayette, and Middle Tennessee State. He spoke recently about the recruiting process and the factors he considers most important before making his decision.

"It's been more fun than stressful. I haven't really been stressing over it lately," he said. "But I am ready to get it over and out of the way."

Although playing for a Big Ten school is a point of interest for Myrick, he holds one priority over the rest.

"Coaching staff really is the main key for me," he said.

He also prefers to go to a school that wants him on the defensive side of the ball as he moves to the collegiate level.

"I'm dedicated to playing DB," he said. He has had good conversations with defensive backs coach Jay Sawvel, as well as running backs coach Brian Anderson and head coach Jerry Kill.

Myrick will not be attending the Gopher's camp on July 20, but will be in Minnesota for a visit in mid-July. In the meantime, he will continue to work out to prepare for his upcoming season.

"I got stronger in my legs," he said, "and a little bit stronger on my bench and power cleans."

Myrick will commit to one of the schools offering him a scholarship on Twitter on July 31.
