Carter Meets With Minnesota Staff

Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson wide receiver Eric Carter has been solidly committed to Minnesota since October. With just over a week until National Signing Day, Carter received an in-home visit from Jerry Kill and other members of the Gophers staff. GopherDigest caught up with the talented wide out to discuss the visit.

"We talked a lot about what's going to happen when I get [to Minnesota]; enrolling and workouts," said Carter.

The 5-foot-11 receiver also found out that he may be used as a true freshman on special teams, something Carter is more than comfortable with.

"I learned that they want me to play a big part in kick and punt returns," he said.

With eight days until Signing Day, Carter is excited to officially become a Golden Gopher.

"I'm ecstatic and ready to sign the couple of dotted lines," he said. "I've never been more happy to commit to something in my life."

Carter will sign his letter of intent next Wednesday.

"On Signing Day, we'll have a big morning at school for my teammates and I," he said. "Then afterwards we'll go out to eat and enjoy the moment."
