Thoughts on Becoming a Golden Gopher
"It means a lot to me playing in the Big Ten and being a part of the Gopher family. It's a dream come true to be playing football on the next level I'm thankful and glad my hard work paid off."

Prep Career Highlights
Salzwedel finished his senior season with 89 tackles, 16 TFL, 11 sacks and eight passes defended.

Coach Tracy Claeys' Take
"Owen is a kid we had here in camp. He's in that 6-3, 240 range. He broad jumped almost 10 feet when he came her to camp so he's extremely explosive and adds more length to us up front along the defensive line. We were trying to accomplish with Owen and Hank, is get a couple of defensive ends who we can get up more to the 260-265 range and still keep that athleticism. I think both of those will fit in great."
