Visits On Deck

FL ATH Antwan Cordy has seen his recruitment only go up and he looks back at one of his earliest offers from Minnesota. He also talks about some upcoming trips he plans on taking and much more

Many have said that speed kills and Homestead (FL.) South Dade athlete Antwan Cordy has a lot of it. Minnesota saw that potential and speed Cordy possesses and offered him in the spring. What does the Florida native think about his Gopher offer?

"I got an offer from Minnesota and they offered me in the spring when they came to my practice," Cordy told GopherDigest. "My reaction was like wow and are you serious (laughter). I was just so happy. I really don't know anything them yet, but I will know a lot more when I take my visit there. I will do some research on the computer about them too."

The 5-9, 180-pound athlete would like to commit during sometime in his senior season and admits to having no favorites currently, so he will be checking out schools to see what they have to offer and where he best fits later on this summer.

"My recruitment is going well, but hasn't come close to stopping," said Cordy. "I have a lot of offers like from Tennessee, Kentucky, Duke, Hawaii, South Florida and a lot more, but I will now be trying to narrow it down. I will be taking my visit out to Minnesota in August and distance will not be a factor for me. I don't want to stay close to home, I want to go far away. I plan on also visiting Duke, Kentucky and Tennessee sometime as well.

When he does choose the school he wants to attend, he knows what he will be bringing to the table to booster the squad and feels that could be on the defensive side of the ball.

"I love to play man to man," said Cordy. "I always am looking so focus on the field and don't fear nothing. I just love coming up and hitting hard. When I do catch the ball for an interception, all I think about is scoring or getting to a spot that it will be easy for my offense to score."
